DaysAbroad is a small, privacy-first iOS app built by Zebra Labs, a solo studio run by Daniel Andrade. The app runs on your phone, tracks days per country in the background with Pro, and stores your records locally. Optional iCloud backup uses your Apple account. Editorial team

Daniel Andrade is the founder of Zebra Labs and the editor of DaysAbroad's travel day-counting guides. He writes and reviews the site's Schengen, tax-residency, and visa explainers from Lisbon, with a bias toward primary government sources and practical traveler edge cases.

Editorial standards

DaysAbroad guides are informational, not legal, tax, or immigration advice. Each guide includes a last-reviewed date, cites primary sources where possible, and is updated when the rule, official source, or product behavior changes.

What this site is for

This site exists for two reasons. First, to help travelers who land here from Google with plain-language answers to the questions that catch people out, the 90/180 rule, the 183-day rule, what counts as a day. Second, to introduce the app to people who are already manually doing what it could do automatically.

What we won't do

• Give legal, tax, or immigration advice. We're not lawyers and you shouldn't take rules from a website as gospel, always verify with primary sources and a qualified professional.
• Collect data we don't need. The app needs your location to know which country you're in. It does not need your name, email, or birthday.
• Hide the app’s data settings. iCloud backup uses your Apple account. The Privacy page explains product analytics and location diagnostics, including differences between app versions.
