Privacy Policy

DaysAbroad is built privacy-first. This policy describes what we collect, what we don't, and what happens to your data. If anything here is unclear, email support@zebralabs.org.

What we collect

Location data. The app uses your phone's GPS to detect which country you're in each day. This data is stored locally on your device in JSON files. Diagnostic location logging, described below, can also transmit location samples.

iCloud backup (optional, your Apple account). If iCloud backup is enabled (it's on by default), an encrypted copy of your travel data is stored in your private iCloud database. This is your Apple account, not ours.

Anonymous analytics (PostHog, default on). The app collects anonymous product analytics through PostHog (EU-hosted, no advertising identifiers). We record which features are used, for example app opens, adding a trip, viewing the paywall, and generating an export, tied only to an anonymous device identifier. No name, email, location coordinates, or country history is sent to PostHog. You can disable this in Settings → Analytics.

Diagnostic location logs. If your app has a separate Location Diagnostics switch, diagnostics are off by default and require that switch to be enabled. Turning it off cancels queued uploads and removes unsent diagnostic samples. Older app versions use the Analytics switch for both product analytics and location diagnostics; turn Analytics off in those versions to stop future uploads. When enabled and a diagnostic endpoint is configured, logs can include coordinates, country codes, timestamps, and an app user identifier.

What we do not collect

• Your name, email, address, or phone number
• Your billing information (Apple handles this)
• Cross-app tracking identifiers (IDFA / advertising ID)

Cookies and analytics on this website

This website uses PostHog for product analytics and a Zebra Labs analytics script on pages outside the calculators. Usage information helps us understand page visits and download-link interactions. Calculator dates, notes, and calculated results are not sent to analytics; automatic DOM capture and session recording are disabled on tool pages.

Your rights

You can delete on-device DaysAbroad data via Settings → Data → Delete all data. For iCloud-stored data, you control it through your Apple account. Contact us about diagnostic records that may have been uploaded; deleting local records does not itself establish that remote diagnostic records have been deleted.
